For this blogger, posting on a Saturday is a rare event. But I’ve been out of town this week, missed my usual Friday post and felt the need to sum up my recent online activities. Why? to remind MYSELF of what’s been going on (summer is flying by!) and to help you catch up on anything you might have missed!
You’ve probably seen my Tweets and Facebook updates with links to a series of short, fitness and health-related videos. They’re all part of a YouTube challenge to Video Every Day in August. I haven’t missed a day yet! Here are my entries from this week, all filmed on Galiano Island, highlighting healthy living and breathtaking vistas! Make sure you subscribe to fitknitchick’s YouTube channel to get automatic updates every time I upload a new video. (Incidentally, if YOU have a great idea for a video blog, don’t be shy; share it with me in the comments below!)
2. Bite Size Wellness guest post
Given that it’s back to school time, many of us will be starting new fitness programs, with the goal of getting back on track and perhaps, losing those barbecue-and-ice-cream pounds we gained over the summer. Check out my thoughts on choosing (and sticking with!) the program that will best help you reach those goals.
3. Fresh Start Fitness Challenge
Join me here, and over on Facebook, for 30 days of exercise and nutrition challenges that will help you jump start your fall fitness goals. Regardless of whether you’re brand new to exercise or returning to it after a short (or long) hiatus, I’d love to have you join in (and be entered to win an 8-week Fitness Coaching Package, courtesy of me!).
Get all the details in last week’s post, the Fresh Start Fitness Challenge!
4. Thought-provoking posts from the health and fitness blogosphere
I read a lot of blog posts (and watch a lot of YouTube videos). I love posts that make me stop and think. Posts that stay with me for the rest of the day. Here are two that resonated with me this past week.
- It’s all about Perspective by Kristen of Following Fit. A great essay about the power of words when making healthy eating decisions. I like it so much, I’m adopting Kristen’s attitude myself!
- Don’t Bum my Flow by Paige of Your Trainer Paige. Need a reminder to stop griping and complaining? Nobody wants to hear it and Paige tells it to you straight!
Did you read any outstanding blog posts this week? Essays that made you stop and say ‘hmm’ to yourself?
