Hooray! I’ve got a sponsor for FitBloggin’12!

You’ve probably noticed the FitBloggin’12 button in my left sidebar.

It’s been hanging out with all my other ‘Events and Associates’ since January, when I bought my early bird ticket to attend the biggest annual fitness bloggers conference in North America. At the time, I had no idea how I would finance my trip, but knew that I desperately wanted to attend to learn more about the world of fitness blogging and to meet some of the fabulous friends I’ve made online.

So I reached out to a colleague I met at FHBC to see if her company would be interested in sponsoring my attendance at the conference. You never know unless you ask, right?

Imagine my delight when they said yes! (You can’t believe how hard I’m resisting adding extra exclamation marks…)

This girl’s going to FitBloggin’12 thanks to Gaiam!

Gaiam Life

“Gaiam is a lifestyle media company that focuses on conscious solutions for personal transformation. We offer the resources you need to achieve self-growth, live a healthy lifestyle or to positively transform your life. Our personal growth media empowers you to create your own personal development path toward the life transformation you seek.”

Their mission statement is perfectly aligned with mine and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to write for their blog readers. In fact, I’ve already written a post for them; Can Knitting Give You a Runner’s High?

Thanks so much to Kirsten and Valerie for making this happen! I look forward to working with you both and am excited to be representing Gaiam at FitBloggin’12!

Have you ever been to a blogging conference?

What advice do you have for a fitness blogging conference newbie?

  1. My advice – wear comfy shoes and bring lots of water

    • Yes, and this time I’ll be bringing my laptop! Trying to keep up with all the Tweets at FHBC with only an iPhone and an iPad was ridiculous. Oh yes, I also read someone’s suggestion to bring a power bar so as not to hog the only available outlet to myself… I promise I’ll share with you!

    can not wait.

    • And you lady, are one of the reasons I reached out to ask for support. Hubby says I better not come home from FitBloggin with a tattoo though…

  3. Wowee!! I’m so jealous! I also want to go BAD but I haven’t been very creative about finding the money. Spending $1,000 for a blogging conference (hotel, conference, airfare) is not in the cards for me, unfortunately. I need to spend my money on continuing education in the fitness field. If I can find a way I’ll do it, but right now it’s looking too expensive :(. I enjoyed seeing you at FHBC and know it’d be a blast!!

  4. VERY EXCITING!!!!!!!!!!!!! So happy for you! I have not been to one & basically just finances. I love reading about it from others & watching their vlogs – I know you will be doing that! 🙂

      • I have no idea Tamara!!! Well, after the end of this month, most likely it will not matter BUT if one comes this way, would love to see blogger friends! 🙂

I voted for you on the Vega thing. Can we do every day?
