Need some self-care help? Win 30 days of self-care guidance!

As a full time mother and wife and a part time personal trainer and group fitness instructor, I spend a lot of time focusing my energy on other people’s needs. Helping others to identify and reach their goals. Listening and questioning and offering support.

Sometimes so much that taking care of myself and my own needs gets set to the side.

While exercise, yoga, knitting and clean eating help me deal with the minor stresses of life, sometimes I feel like I don’t have enough time to really focus on my innermost challenges. The things that I need to work on to move forward with my life goals and make me better at helping others realize theirs.

I need some self-care help!

A few months ago I heard a life-coach speak at a local ‘mompreneurs’ event. I knew at once that having someone like her in my life would lead to amazing things. Yet, somehow, I never managed to find the time (or the money) to make that phone call. Too busy putting out the day-to-day fires to plan for the longer term.

Enter my friend, Kirri White (of Happy Mums at Home). I met Kirri through a Facebook 30 day meditation challenge (I tried, but simply could not get into a groove with meditating on my own). Kirri is a life coach who focuses on teaching women (especially moms), how to nurture and care for themselves as well as they nurture and care for the others in their lives. As a mom of three young children, she understands ‘mother guilt’ and wants to teach women to put their needs front and centre.

In the short time that I’ve known her, her blog posts and Facebook updates have never failed to inspire, cheer and make me think!

She and her colleague Deb Dane are the brains behind the ‘30 Day Self Care Blueprint‘, an on-line, life coaching course to help women find and celebrate ‘me’ time.

What is ‘The 30 Day Self Care Blueprint’?

“An individualised action plan that is based on the pillars of Self-care, Self-knowledge and Self-love. You will leave with a tangible, workable self-care plan aligned with your current life circumstances, your core values, and designed to enhance your self-worth and well-being!”

Who will benefit from “The 30 Day Self-Care Blueprint”? Anyone who identifies with any of the following statements!

“You have been struggling with investing time, energy and resources into your needs, your dreams or your health.

You have lost touch with what nurtures you or fires you up!

You have put yourself last for too long and want to start honoring yourself.

You are looking for a deeper relationship with yourself and want to gain an understanding of who you are, what you want and what you really need.

You are looking to let go of perfectionism, find self-compassion and give yourself permission to accept yourself as you are. This is self improvement without perfectionism!

You are ready to start where you are right now and make a plan for how you will move forward – one step at a time, with patience and positivity.

You want a tangible, workable self-care plan aligned with your values and designed to reduce unhelpful ways of thinking, improve your self-worth and enhance your well-being.”

I’ve already registered and received my ‘homework’ reading. And because I signed up early, I received a second course for only $1. I’d like to offer the second course to YOU, one of my readers, to use for yourself or to give to someone in your life who needs some help with self-care. Mother’s Day is just around the corner; wouldn’t this make a perfect gift?

To enter, please leave a comment on this post (see the ‘Comment’ box below) telling me who you’d like to give this course to (it can be yourself) and why. Feel free to ‘Tweet’ and ‘Share’ this post with your friends to encourage them to enter as well and earn yourself an extra entry or two! Just make sure to comment that you ‘Tweeted’ and ‘Shared'; each in a separate comment to make them count!

Comments will close at 9 pm (PST), Thursday, May 10th and the winner (chosen by random number generator) will be announced on my blog, as well as on my Facebook page the morning of the 11th. (Worried about missing the announcement? Subscribe to my blog at the top right hand corner of this page; just underneath my photo!)

What are you waiting for? We all need a little self-care help!

  2. I would like to give this course to my sister. She is a new mom who is still getting used to the fact that once you have kids, you cannot control everything. I would like for her to get comfortable with that realization.

I would love to give this course to myself. I’ve been wanting to get into a daily practice of yoga and meditation, but it’s so hard for me to do. I could really benefit from the guidance that these women offer.

  5. I would like to give this to myself because I broke down in complete tears this morning at my daughter’s preschool because I didn’t think my son’s school project was good enough and wanted more time. Umm yea, new low. Something has to give!

  6. I would most definitely use it for myself. We are moving on May 17th. I think it would help me with the transition of moving and getting settled.

  7. I will give it to my sister so she will become more mellow and speak in a more mellow, happy tone of voice that truly reflects her caring. Then I will copy her (not really; I’m an original).

  9. Ha ha I saw my sister’s post. And I hope I win this very generous offer of yours and Kirri’s. While I do not strive for mellow, I would like to get closer to realizing my dreams and potential and to get my time management in line with my values. Hmm, and if Kirri is super duper effective, I would even be nicer to my sister too. Thank you for making this offer possible to whoever wins. Wouldn’t it be fun to go through this with you!? http://funandfit.org/2010/05/walk-or-run-to-the-best-cardio-workout/

  10. I really want to do this. I’ve literally been “stuck” for almost 2 years. It all boils down to my thoughts of self-acceptance and self-love. I’ve started doing yoga, which helps clear my mind and focus on myself but I can barely make it though a class without crying, it becomes too overwhelming. There are many things I want to do in this little life of mine…with love. I know it’s inside of me but hidden and a little bit scared too.

Thank you for this generous offer :) What a wonderful gift!

I would like to do this for myself. I’m turning 40 soon, my daughter is grown and it’s time to start focusing on me for the first time in a very long time!!!

  12. Thanks for the shout out Tamara. I’m touched by the comments of your readers….good luck to you all x

  13. I would love to do the course for myself. Beeing a mom to very active 2 year old boy and a wife to somebody who very succesfully runs a small business on his own, I struggle to find my own space and identity. This course is exactly what I need right now.

  14. Hi, I’d like to win this for myself. I juggle a lot of priorities: 3 young children (I’m a single Mum), I’m full time at University, I work part time to [just] pay the bills, and my parents are ageing and ill [one with terminal cancer and the other Alzheimers]. It’s all about everybody else most days. Something like this would be fantastic! Thank you.

  16. I love both of these women`s blogs {and about to check out yours further!!!}

Would love to win this for myself- I have let my health go in recent months/years and really need to get back on track minus the excuses that I can`t because of the kids or because “good” food is too expensive. I am currently doing Deb`s SYL12 challenge and loving it and think that this would be just the thing to keep me at it so that I don`t hit a funk as we get the middle of that challenge.

I have two young boys {2 toddlers under 2.5} and live in Japan.

I think whoever wins this will be very lucky!
