I can always tell, within an hour of waking up, what type of day it’s going to be. Calm and relaxed or frenzied? Energetic or tiresome? Happy or not-so-much.
For me, the activities that I engage in before 9 am have a tendency to set the tone for the day. I know it will be a great one if the following five things happen;
1. I awake before the alarm and my husband brings me coffee in bed (he’s been doing this for 18 years now; I know, I’m spoiled).
2. I have time to sit down to a healthy, satisfying breakfast (instead of feeding myself while standing at the counter and preparing breakfast and lunch for everyone else). This morning, I had overnight oats topped with Holy Crap cereal and strawberries. Yum!
3. I remember to take my GNC vitamins.
4. My children awake happy and allow themselves to be hugged and kissed by mom.
5. I have an exercise plan. Today is my day away from teaching and training clients and I’m excited to try a new Hatha Flow class at Kushala Yoga.
What needs to happen in your morning for your day to be a happy one?

Is there really a health cereal called “Holy Crap?!” As for kissing kids, I force daily hugs and kisses on my 6 foot tall daughter when she comes home to visit. She tolerates it with good grace. Secretly I think she’d miss it if I did not pull the mom bit on her visits from college. http://funandfit.org/2012/03/milk-doesnt-always-come-from-cows-product-review/
Yes, Kymberly, Holy Crap exists. Google them and order some on line. Better yet, remind me and I’ll bring some to Denver for you!
Isn’t it great to wake up before the alarm? I always get up around 5:45 am to work out, but those days where I’m up before that ring tone blares in my ear go smoother (as do my workouts
).
I’m looking forward to the day that I can fit workouts in early; my kids still need me from about 7 am on and my house is too small to exercise without waking them all up. Guess I could go for a run, but it’s not really my thing.
I get up & right to the gym. That starts my day off perfect!
AS for you & that hubby bringing you coffee in bed – WOW!!!! How wonderful is that!
I am very grateful, in particularl, to my father-in-law who also performed this task of love for my mother-in-law every day of their 50+ year marriage! My hubby was well taught!
